New Kids on the Block!

Please accept my apologies for this gratuitous Lens Porn image but I can't help myself! A special apology to my Aussie blip pals, for whom I originally intended smoke blipping the National Flag. Instead, in small recognition of the day...

While other nations of the globe
Behold us from afar,
We'll rise to high renown and shine
Like our glorious southern star;
From England, Scotia, Erin's Isle,
Who come our lot to share,
Let all combine with heart and hand
to Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
"Advance Australia fair!"

Happy Australia Day!!!

Super-fast delivery of both the lens and extender meant that I spent a lot of my day ogling the boxes on the corner of my desk, unable to sneak a peek until lunch time. When I got in of course, I wanted to try it out. However, I don't want the first image I blip with it to be a grainy high ISO shot in the dark. Hahaha, fear not, they will surely come! :- ) Nope, I'll be heading out at the weekend, in the light. First things first though. Tomorrow I need to phone the insurance company as this little baby is the first item I have ever owned that will require to be named on the policy.

I did fit the lens to check the weight because, my did it feel hefty on its own. The camera acts as a balance for the front heavy lens and as a result it's very nice to hold. As meaty as it is, with the extender added to the back end, it becomes a monster! After just 15 mins or so of sticking the camera through the curtains to take a few shots up the hill, my left arm started feeling the weight. Hahahaha, I'm such a wimp!

Thanks so much for putting up with my Haggis silliness yesterday and your lovely comments. I'm glad you got a laugh out of it! Still to catch up with a few late ones, but I'll do that and catch up on everyone's day after tea.

Hope everyone's had a great Thursday. Tomorrow is the end of the week!!!
