Sweet Child of Mine

Bouncy!

Rebecca had her first try of the door bouncer and she loved it. She was far more animated in there than Elizabeth ever was. I wouldn't be surprised if she actually bounced in it once day... Elizabeth always just stepped from one foot to the other and made cute noises. Sometimes she turned around in a circle, but not deliberately.

Other than that we had a really busy day.

Elizabeth got her hair cut. It cost all of £2! Bargin! We'd like her to have long hair, so it was just a bit of a tidy up. Her hair gets a bit matted at the back from sleeping on it. Hopefully once it's had a few hair cuts, that'll stop happening. It already looks healthier.

I promised Elizabeth that we could go to the cafe afterwards, so we had a drink and a shortbread finger each (seemed appropriate given the day). She is so well behaved now. She sat in her chair for the whole time and chatted away to me. Then she made a "castle" with the sugar bowls, salt cellar and her juice bottle. The juice bottle was the "queen of the castle". Apparently because it had a picture of a little girl on it.

We had a wander around tesco and the only thing Elizabeth picked up was a bottle of nail polish. But she put it back down when I asked her.

And in all this time, she didn't asked to be carried once!

After lunch we went out to Hidden Treasures. It was just us and one other mum & child there, same as last week. But that was nice because we sat in the middle and had a gossip while the children played around us. Elizabeth was in her element. She was running around, stepping on her "tip toes", and chatting loads! When I said she was going to be a ballerina, she walked over to Rebecca's carseat, held onto it with one hand, lifted one leg up and tucked it into the other one, like a ballerina warming up. I have no idea where she got that from, but I must find her some dance classes to go to!

The others were commenting on her speech and how good it is. The other boy that was there is 4 weeks older than Elizabeth and doesn't say a lot. But then he is toilet trained and Elizabeth isn't. All children are different.

At home I tried to teach Elizabeth to use some scissors. That wasn't easy, and she was getting bored, so we gave up. Instead we glued stars and glitter onto paper. Very pretty! We'll try the scissors again another day.

And then we played with her hobby horses, her train track and her "baby". It was a very busy day.
