Burns' Night

Not exactly an original topic for today's blip but there is a good reason for going with it.

29 years ago tonight my Mum and I were in Dundee. I had been for interview at the University. The boarding house we stayed in had very interesting decor.

Every surface was covered in tartan - floors, walls, ceilings, tablecloths, chairs, bedding!! Not only that, but they were all different and clashed horribly. My Mum and I got a fit of the giggles at breakfast when the tartan teapot arrived on the table!!

Oh and our meal on Burns' Night? Not a haggis in sight. We went to a Chinese restaurant and had pineapple fritters!!
