Mummy!

Guess he was delighted to see me :-) Just a quick iPhone blip tonight.

Five rounds of Dr. Seuss later and he was all tucked up.

H has had a good day. Last night he had a bit of a melt down because he was upset that he wasn't clever any more. We reassured him that he will always be clever, dyslexia doesn't change that, but that it's more important for him to enjoy what he learns without stressing about being 'best', because we can't all be best at everything. We advised him to try to relax and not worry about keeping up with everyone else, just to concentrate on doing his own work at his own pace. He was so happy tonight. His teacher had been really pleased with his efforts and after he'd completed his music practice he headed straight for the laptop to practice his typing. He hasn't used this new skill at school yet but I think just knowing he has it makes him feel empowered.

Loads of waffle tonight but I just wanted to record it because in six months or six years it will be interesting to see how it all pans out..
