HIGH TIDE IN THE WESER
but the footpath till Würgassen one can still walk, after that to the north the path has disappeared and the water floods the gardens of the houses along the river.
So we walk through a street of the village till we come again near the river. There are several swans and Nile-geese walking in the wet grassland. Eating a bit, chasing each other, enjoying the sun as we do now too.
On our way back in a tiny bakery annex supermarket we buy a "dinkel" (spelt) bread, which seems to be very healthy.
The couple in the picture were swimming near the ferry that operates only in spring and summertime. In the background some houses of Herstelle at the other side of the Weser are seen.
My haiku:
Where the feet of trees
make islands in the swift stream
Swimming logs safe stay
And the proverb of Shakespeare:
Out of this nettle, danger, we pluck this flower, safety.
