Top Dog

I USED THE FLASH .

We were having a coffee this morning and this was the scene opposite me. I know dogs shouldn't be up at the table blah, blah, etc., etc...... but, it made me laugh.

I got my camera and took a few shots but I knew the light was behind them and I knew what had to be done. I didn't go as far as looking out the speedlight, (one step at a time please) but switched on the on camera flash.

I wasn't so sure about the result. I could see the difference it made but not so happy with depth of field etc. After lunch I tried the same scene again. Think that attempt was worse as I tried to get clever with f-stops, iso and the like.

Decided just to publish this anyway. It will be a record of my first attempt (I expect many poor shots as I try to master this) and any advice will be gratefully received.
