Inspired by a master

If anyone is in the Manchester area I can thoroughly recommened a visit to The Lowry Gallery on Salford Quays.
At the moment they have a superb exhibition of work by Adolfe Valette. Valette lived and taught in Manchester for many years and for some time had Lowry as a student. Not only are there some fine paintings of Manchester but also many portraits and some of rural life in France.

If that is not enough to tempt you there is also an exhibition of portraits by photographer Nadav Kander.
