One Day Like This

Reflecting the village

Day 4 in the North: another visit, this time to my sister and two nephews. Cosy as always. On my way back to the car I saw the village of Winsum reflected in a pool of water. This pool was created to become an ice skating rank when it freezes, but unfortunately for the good people of Winsum, the winter wasn't that strong yet. Today was a bit frosty, and some say this weekend we might be reaching temperatures below zero. Let's hope so - I wouldn't mind skating this year!

Funnily enough this place is called the Sennema location, named after the DIY store (not family!) that was demolished to make place for a huge apartment building. Due to (again) controversy and crisis, the building still is nowhere to be seen. Great news for my sister who still has a view on this beautiful site, and for the kids who hopefully will be skating this weekend.
