Early Departure
So I'd been planning on staying till at least Monday morning, or possibly even longer if I fancied as with Mrs L down south the only appointment I needed to make was Wednesday's train south from Perth. But the weather forecast for today was yet another cold drizzly day, the weather forecast for tomorrow was yet another cold drizzly day, but escape the west coast and go east i.e. Perth, then the forecast improved dramatically.
Most of the others had already planned to leave today and those that were staying probably won't be doing anything today and probably just be travelling home tomorrow. So I packed my bag, and headed up to Mick's to say farewell.
A cup of coffee tempted me to stay awhile. Then I was requested to hang around for the SMHC committee meeting as there could be a job for me - that's a job I need to volunteer for, not that I get paid for, and at the appropriate point I duly volunteered.
Now there's talk of a meal this evening at the house, John, Tom & Mandy are cooking and Mick and Kathy are coming down and there could be other guests. I could stay. But no, I decide I'm still leaving, I'll head back to Perth, I'll have my microwave meal alone in the flat while my friends are enjoying their more social affair. Yes I'm happy with that decision, honest, it means I'll get a day of good weather tomorrow as opposed to another cold drizzly day. Yes, that's the right thing to do.
Well today turned from being a cold drizzly day to being a cold wet day as I drove back I stopped off at the Lagan Dam in the rain. I've actually never seen so much water in there in recent years, but it makes for a good photo as they let it escape, although once again a bit of HDRing was required to bring out the colours.
I continued the journey on to Perth, almost as soon as I left Lochaber the rain stopped, the sun came out. Back at the flat I met Grant and Helen, the weather's been cold, but bright and dry while I was away. Yes leaving early was the right decision - honest.
