Golden light

We were all quite exhausted today and managed a well-deserved long lie. Mum arranged lunch at The Dairy and we really enjoyed the chat and the food.

Fred and I caught up with some friends later after a walk up Godman's Brae, where the sun shone on us for a moment, and through Crown. It's not a part of the city I know that well, but Fred went to school there so he enlightened me about various memories and aspects of the area.

In the evening, we headed back down to London on the Sleeper. Some of the commuting regulars were sharing tales in the lounge car while we played Scrabble and drank tea.
