Common darter

Hot, hot hot - so very hot today! We had the air-con on full-blast and it was still in the high 20s in some parts of our office. I braved the sun to go to the nature reserve at lunchtime. The butterflies were plentiful and there were electric-blue damselflies darting around. Talking of darters, I found this one lounging by the pond.

F, having abandoned his cycling run to Inverness for the moment (campsites too busy over the summer holidays), is cycling on the South Downs. He's had a good day for it! Cradlehall has also been sunning himself on the South Downs. He texted me at lunchtime to say so - he knows fine I'm stuck in the office! Retired folk on holiday. Grrrr. On kidding - I'd be there if I could! I'll see him, Mrs C and little bro tomorrow night before they head back up to Inverness.
