Notes on Foil...
It's amazing what you find out from the Discovery Channel.
Yesterday, I found out the reason why there is a shiney side and a matt side to tinfoil.
To make tinfoil they go through a couple of processes. There is an initial drying out phase to take moisture out of the raw material. It is then melted down and formed into 1cm think rolls. The next stage is to heat these rolls so the molecules of the aluminium re-align and make it more rollable.
Next is a series of rollings where it is rolled flat between 2 rollers. After this, it is still shiny on both sides but has been rolled flat to measurements in microns but the rollers can't get it thin enough for the end product.
The final stage is to put to of the rolls in together to half the thickness again. After this final rolling.
The 2 rolls are then separated and the inside where the 2 rolls were pressed together is the matt side where the outsides are the shiney sides.
Notes in the style of...
I was in 2 minds about the way to approach the assignment. Do I go for style of subjects or general style. I've opted for the latter in this one, but in going for the latter I didn't want the blipper in question to think I was pigeon holeing them rather hoping it would be taken as flattering as I have picked up these sort of things from said styler out of a wide range of their personal styles.
Can you guess who it is?
