AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VALLEY
the hill is overgrown with trees till the top. First we had the impression that the forest would stretch from there to the south. But no, there is a high plain. In winter we do not go there, but in spring and summer there are bright yellow fields, and nice paths to cycle on, or walk.
This morning (I really was exited about the blue in the sky as big as a stamp) Piet Hein and I walked to Helmarshausen, along the river the Diemel. The waterlevel of the Weser and of the Diemel are rather high, buth the foothpath along the Diemel lies high and it is a nice walk under trees.
The rain that now and then fell was so soft, we hardly noticed. But from Helmershausen we waited for the bus that would bring us back, because we could use a sandwich and an apple.
My haiku:
Hellebore purple
Poisonous flower I kneel
Near to greet the mouse
And the proverb of G.B. Shaw:
A perpetual holiday is a good working definition of hell.
