The Sky

I went to the North Jetty tonight after the sun set to see if there was enough light left to capture a picture of some big waves. Well, the sun had set but the sky was still brilliant and the sky reflecting on the water made it brilliant too. It was fairly dark already on the beach and I could hear the thundering of the waves off in the distance. I decided to take a few sky pictures and wait for more light to venture out any further.

Last week I had my oldest daughter here for a few days, visited my second daughter, her husband, my two grandchildren and my great grandson over the weekend, put daughter # 1 on her plane to Georgia and drove home in the snow to Florence, our little coastal town that doesn't get much snow. Well, since then, it snowed all night and part of the next day - then it started raining , which melted the snow, Then it KEPT raining which flooded the rivers, then we got 90 to 100 mph winds to blow the rain around. Trees fell on my relative's homes, The river flooded many homes and you can drive through town and see the debris.

It was one heck of a week and when I realized that it was just last sunday we drove home through the snow I couldn't believe it. It seemed like at least a month's worth of weather changes!
