Typical Great Western Signal Box at Truro

The original signal boxes to control the complex layout at Truro were built by 1880.

These were replaced by a new Truro West signal box in 1897 and a new Truro East in 1899. These were both Great Western Railway Type 7A signal boxes.

The West box was closed in November 1971 the East box shown here, which is situated just east of the level crossing at the end of the platforms, was renamed "Truro".

There are many surviving semaphore signals situated around the station.
