Self Portrait
While perusing the blip last night I came across Brickmakers rather unusual self-portrait. My interest piqued I delved a little further and found the self portrait assignment on the forum. After a brief read of the entries I decided to have a go. Good job too because it is pouring with rain and generally miserable outside today.
I set this shot up almost as soon as I got up this morning and took a few test shots to get my exposure and facial expression right. Then I went for a shower to make myself a little more presentable and shot the final you see here. Oops, I forgot to shave and there are still bags under my eyes from sleeping (I think!).
I shot the image on 1600 ISO to get a bit of grit into the photo. This is the "lean forward and straighten out the double chin" pose. It works for me. I am actually looking across the road at the building site.
I have been trying not to moan about work on my blip lately but decided to break that rule today. I am three days back from holidays and already the politics are happening. During my break I decided to face it all calmly and with a smile. It is working so far. There seems to be a particular focus on me which is pobably because I have been away for two weeks and therefore unable to defend myself during inter-office debates. It happens all the time and I was expecting it.
Now just to batten down the hatches and ride out the next thirteen months. We'll see what happens then.
