Highgate and home
This morning we set off from Highgate Tube Station on another guided walk - A Dickens Tour of Highgate.
The village of Highgate is beautiful and has superb views out over the City, so I was disappointed to find a flat battery in my camera at the first photo op! It was lovely walk despite that (and the rain shower that soaked us to the skin), which takes in Hampstead Heath and Highgate Cemetery, along with numerous sites linked to the author Charles Dickens.
We arrived back at Crouch End in time for lunch and hurried packing before I headed home. The Highgate Tube Station was deserted, as were the Tube trains.
From the left; mini tardis (a police telephone box, the notice reads "An original police telephone free for the use of the public. The telephone is no longer operational please use nearby pay phone"), deserted Tube escalator, deserted platform, Edinburgh train time, York Station enroute to Edinburgh.
