Dinner tonight ...

... with friends in their apartment. It turned into a beautiful evening. I was up bright and early to do some serious house-tidying and cleaning, then it was over to the music session (close by, fortunately). I'd promised to lend a chair to the dinner-givers, who are Music Group members, so I brought the chair to the session and dropped them and the chair to their place afterwards.

We were expected at '8.00 for 8.30'. The car stayed at home, and the original plan was to get a bus, but there was no sign of one coming after a ten-minute wait, so the next available taxi got flagged down and had the honour of doing a pick-up. It was a great night ... at least, what I remember of it was. I vaguely recall one of the hosts insisting on playing the final movement of Beethoven's Ninth and my eulogising about the merits of the version he chose (Osmo Vänska and the Minnesota Symphony). After that, though, it's all very, very vague. It had to be well into the wee hours by the time my own hall door was arrived at.

Fortunately I had the presence of mind to bring the camera with me, and to blip this view from the hosts' balcony across to the building opposite. I always was a bit of a sucker for reflections ...
