Butterflies, butterflies..we were meant to fly
For those who follow my journal you will know one of my closest and oldest friends is Heather. Heather is the mother of Olivia (my god daughter) and Lily. However Heather also had another baby girl, Emily Mae, who sadly passed away 2 yrs ago today. I like to think of the sisters as the three little butterfly's but one is a little bit different, this is part of a story devised to explain to Olivia who was 2 at the time.
Today, as last year, was a time for Heather and I to go out for dinner and to let her by just be herself, not a mummy or a wife etc...we went for dinner to the Hawes Inn in South Queensferry. We got to pick our own table, I was leading the way and walked past a booth but caught it in the corner of my eye. I walked to the back of the restaurant and picked another seat, but just before we sat I decided we should go back to the other booth, we sat down and looked up, there was a lone butterfly! I love signs.
We just laughed literally all night. HEC felt like herself and we had a toast and blew out a candle for EMC - We always love you and remember you. This always makes me think of you.
