Travellersjoy and I have had an adventure! We have yomped across the countryside taking in ringforts, standing stones, a lake, three abandoned houses - each magical and enticing in its own way, been followed by a herd of horses and two donkeys, released a sheep that had its neck stuck in a wire fence, admired a secret copse with waterfall, had informative chats with people we met on the way and got stuck in a lot of seriously deep and squelchy mud. Here is Travellersjoy managing to look remarkably glamorous in her typical hiking gear. We were in her 'patch' and wonderful to discover places I never knew were there. We could seriously lead each other astray! See her blip for the day.
War Horse was very Spielberg and quite patchy, great in parts and very sentimental in others. The humans were very cliched but the horse was magnificent. We shared the cinema with about 200 14 years olds bused in for the occasion - it must be a set book. The noise of tons of popcorn being chimped and flirtations going on was incredible.
