Westerton Pond is ayeways bonnie. Especially so today. There was a round of applause for Alistair! (The actor's last public show). Is that an actor thing, applause at a funeral? I almost whistled, but where do shows of appreciation transcend etiquette and become ridiculous? I look at people. Two saintly old ladies with white hair. Genuinely kindly faces.

Does it qualify as haiku? More than the 17 requisite syllables. Or what's your rules?

There would have been ripples but the pond was iced over. Clear ice, not white ice. Ice masquerading as water.
