The Culprit

I admit. I confess. I am a procrastinator. I've been driving around on a tire that has a slow leak. For the past year and a half. Instead of repairing it, I bought an air compressor.

It wasn't too bad in the beginning, I'd have to fill it every week then every three days, but now it's down to twice daily and enough is enough. Besides, we're getting snow tomorrow.

So this morning I filled it once more, then sped over to Belford Tire Center for a price on a new runflat. The proprietor met me at the door and listened to my story. "Have a seat. It won't be long to check it out. Let me have your keys." He was so nice, I meekly complied. I really hadn't planned on staying and I think he knew it.

A half hour later, the gent produced the culprit. "You've been driving around on it for a long time." He noted. "You've clean wore the head away."

The plug cost me all of $21.00. The peace of mind? Priceless.
