Voodoo art

Today we had the amazing experience of visiting Mrs. Lehmann's art collection, the biggest collection of voodoo art in the world. Unfortunately, there is no space to properly showcase the pieces, hence this picture does not do it justice. This piece is one of the more subdued, lacking in skulls, sharp horns and paint. The pieces are often quite beautiful, in a grotesque kind of aesthetic.

The only thing more impressive then the collection is the collector. Mrs. Lehmann is an old, exuberant woman with an amazing laugh, amazing stories and amazing generosity.
