Sorry, it's hard to avoid snow around here. I was out clearing the deck this afternoon under the supervision of Miss Annie, who preferred to do it from inside, thank you very much. I usually let Mother Nature take care of this chore when she feels like it, but there's heavy rain forecast. Under the one-foot depth of snow was a layer of ice blocking the gaps between the deck boards. Snow can hold large quantities of water and create heavy loads. There have been many cases where this has caused (flat) roofs to collapse. I was being over-cautious worrying about my deck, but I needed some exercise after a week without pickleball.

Come hell or high water, Cynthia and I are going to the beer tasting class on Saturday.
