happy birthday Grandad

some Rudyisms from today...

on practicing the sound 'ch' - chimpanzee, cheese, chips, chicken, chimney, chuff, chop, chit (nice attempt at swearing)

after talking about my Grandad and how much I still miss him I had a moment of trying to avoid the conclusiveness of where he was and muttered something gentle about no longer being here. Rudy in a slightly more straightforward manner retorted - "that's right mummy, he is dead. D-E-D- deeeddd - Nanny's daddy is dead" - pretty unequivocal really.

Anyway, I am looking forward to a small toast in his memory. And as I also discussed with Rudy, I am very lucky to have known and been close to such a wonderfully special incredible man.
