A Job I Wouldn't Want
After dropping the doctor off at 10:00 a.m., I was off in search of a winter picture. With 25 F degrees, snow flurries, and a howling wind...it didn't take long.
Picture a John Deere tractor in front of a Heritage Farm during a white-out. Snowing so hard I couldn't get out of the car. But...I just couldn't get the angle. I finally grabbed my wifes brightly flowered umbrella, and ventured out. Lots of flakes in the picture. The ad goes...NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE. This Deere doesn't fit the ad. Hard to run with no front wheels.
Then I had 3 horses in front of a green barn. Although it is pretty...WHO PAINTS THEIR BARN GREEN? Dark horses, green barn, and the white snow was hard to pass up. Perhaps I will return for that shot.
Ended up in the Great Lakes National Cemetery. A couple of burial services were going on. I guess death does not wait for nice weather. White snow, white grave markers, and hundeds of green and red grave blankets made for some pretty pictures.
I settled on this worker. I felt so sorry for him being out in this weather. I know they have front loaders for digging graves, so I don't know what he was digging. He tried to keep his back to the wind, but he still had to be cold.
Hard way to earn a living.
