Classic Kodak by digital Fuji
Not sure if this blip is a tribute or a stab in the back... Rolls of Kodak Tri-X film, shot with a Fuji F200exr digital camera, tells the story of photography and Kodak these days.
Yet it was Kodak that invented the digital camera way back in 1975, but I think they realised they had created the first nail in their own coffin, so didn't pursue it, a fatal mistake either way as it turns out. Fujifilm did...
On the news last week that Kodak were in trouble, I ordered a few rolls of Tri-X, the classic film which I never shot enough of, and certainly haven't in many years, nor any other film, since going digital around 2000. Then today came the news that the once might photo giant had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Who knows what the future holds as film becomes an increasingly niche product...I only bought these rolls for nostalgic reasons, pondering how and where to develop them.
Meanwhile, enjoyed my day off, with a McD breakfast treat, then a walk on the seafront (see blipfolio), followed by car washing with headphones in. I like a clean machine! All most satisfactory, except for poor Kodak...
