Making Merit

The act of placing a square of gold flake on this giant reclining Buddha is this woman's merit for the day. She most likely lit some incense and placed a flower at the front of it then came around to its shoulder to place the gold flake. Some people will diligently do this every week or even everyday. Others save the merit-making ritual for special holidays.
