Barefoot on Asphalt

It was a hot day and I can't imagine walking barefoot on that asphalt. We had wanted to hike around Sipi Falls today, but because of some tribal land conflicts, the mutatu driver refused to take us further up the road. There was nothing to do but return to Mbale. The next day we read that one man was killed and 20 houses were burned. The women and children fleeing down the road were enough to convince me to turn around...
