Fungal frills

Found this on a tree stump in a park round the back of the college today.

I'd gone out looking for a tree that I'd seen had come off the worst from the wild weather, thinking it would make a good blip. It seems to have disappeared, but before I could track down the stump (and why not) I came across this fungus growing out of another stump.

The colours don't show too clearly in this, as it was a gloomy lunchtime, but as fungus go, it's gor rather purty frills....
