Around Ripley

Not as crisp and clear a day as yesterday but even so we had resolved to 'do' a walk around Ripley. It's one we've done before a couple of years ago and enjoyed and we also knew it would be fairly easy going. It's 6.5 miles and takes in woodland and open ground as well as some nice parkland belonging to Ripley Castle.

It's a few years since I've been to any gigs here but there is a venue called the Hotel de Ville. It is the home of Ripley Blues and is run by a really enthusiastic blues fan.

Also, where the walk starts and ends, in the village itself is The Boars Head (excellent food and beer but not cheap) and in the picture is the boar water fountain.

All in all its a nice spot to visit.
