Karen gets her Black Belt

Karen (left) had her 1st Dan grading today, which was really cool to watch. She is so awesome at Aikido that our Sensei made an exception to the rules and let her do her Dan grade a year early; she graduates from uni this week and visa restrictions means she has to go back to Malaysia. It's really strange as her and her boyfriend are effectively being split apart by bureaucracy, which totally sucks.

Met up with my boyfriend's mates in the evening and was treated to an exciting night of.... jazz.
