The Last of the Summer Vine

Today I used the final few of last seasons tomatoes, a local variety which produced a lovely crop of firm, bright fruit with a succulent taste, that cook exceedingly well.

In the pan with garlic and onion also grown here and a healthy and generous sprinkling of oregano, the smell was good enough to bottle.

So although sometimes the economics of growing your own is questionable the lovely feeling of smug satisfaction makes it all worthwhile.

It also reminded me that I need to get my order in for The Real Seed company before too long, we start early here in Serinya.
