Tha beatha cho prìseil.

Today, I went to visit Colin & Glynis, the funeral of whose daughter Vicki is tomorrow. Colin was on his own, with the dogs who had survived the car accident, and I was glad to be able to talk to him before tomorrow's service.

But how much more can one family take?

Glynis' brother Paul was on his way up yesterday for the funeral; his 4x4 was towing a caravan, and at Dalwhinnie, a van tried to nip in at the last minute before the dual carriageway ended, clipped the car and the car & caravan rolled. Paul and his 4 year old granddaughter were killed; his partner and the other granddaughter survived. Glynis and her mum are in Inverness today having to deal with another family death.

I hope they can find some strength tomorrow to get through. I know that this is an oft-used clichè, but it does put one's own worries and troubles into perspective.

Sometimes you can envy a dog the simple life.

Life is so precious - Tha beatha cho prìseil.
