This lovely little hawk seemed to call to another kite. They both settled on top of a large oak... we are speculating that they are a pair and are thinking about nesting. Maybe...
Excellent birding day at Coyote Hills Regional Park, Union City, Ca. Along with the kites, we say white pelicans, an American avocet, a cinnamon teal, an ibis and many, many northern shovelers. When these flew overhead in large flocks, we could hear their wings flapping, and whistling. Also, egrets, great blue herons, gulls, American coots, pied billed grebes, mallards, black phoebes,red tailed hawks, turkey vultures .. excellent day, once again
