Children should be seen and not heard!
Hollow Jnr Jnr had rainbows tonight after school. I nipped by collected the Snr, came home, tidied up and got tea ready. It was all done in a calm and serene fashion.
6.30pm arrives and Jnr Jnr and Mr H arrive home and that's where the peace and tranquility ended! I now know why my mother never really perservered with making us sit at a table as a family for tea. Tonight we had 'she's looking at me' about twenty times' and crying because 'She called me a plum!' (I've no idea why!) along with fake crying, fake laughing, manic laughing after a chocolate yogurt and phrases such as 'kissing on the lips is absolutely disgusting!'. All from Jnr Jnr - no one else got a word in edgeways.
It just took me back to the days with my brother, lphoughton, sitting at a kitchen table, him glaring at me for 5 mins for no apparenet reason other than I was there, moving his knife and fork right over away from me and after 10 mins of trying to maintain a conversation mum giving in to us eating in the front room, leaving her and my sister in the kitchen.
What does give me some hope is that now me and my brother (and sister) can't sit and eat together without laughing hysterically at something so maybe I'll perservere.
This photo was taken in the only 5 seconds she stoppped talking - I had to take it quickly hence the slight blurriness!
