Ricard from le marche aux puces
The visit to le puce, flea market, at Marseillan yesterday was extremely successful for us all especially the lovely L who found a silver tastevin dating from the 1930s and made by Cristofle....and what a find that was.
My mission was to collect Ricard bits and pieces. Ricard are one of the producers of Pastis, an anise flavoured aperitif which orginally was prepared from whole herbs while more modern versions are alcohol based mixed with essences and extracts and typically 40-45% proof!!!
There is something about the yellow and blue and simplicity of design that is just so appealing. A very sweet couple with a trestle loaded with lovely little Ricard glasses ,tin backed posters and more Ricard paraphenalia than you could poke a stick at, were extremely patient with my dodgy French. Together we stumbled through bargaining in Euros and sorting through coins and notes and now I have this little collection to add to a growing collection of goodies to stagger back to Aus with.
