Fetch!

A relatively painless journey here yesterday (Mrs42 was not so lucky, she was in le plus grandes bouchon de la monde* on the first day of the French school holidays) and the gite is lovely with a modern kitchen, big garden and BBQ. We're staying near Carcassone for a week with our friends and their two kids.

The first full day of our holiday has been great fun. The weather wasn't fantastic, but after a long lie and a leisurly breakfast we went up to a local lake and auberge restaurant and had a three course lunch ... the local speciality is Cassolet.

C (who has featured on blip before) adopted the restaurant owner's dog and it came with us on the walk round the lake. Running, jumping, chasing, throwing, laughing and generally going wild.

After the lake we visited a farm shop and bought some venison steaks. At the farm, there were the cutest kittens in the world.

I'm loving my new lens.

The forecast is for the sun to come out properly tomorrow :-)
