Why, yes, these are new shoes

Had a nice day with kiddo while kidlet and she who knits went on an expedition to Penicuik. Bought waterproof purple shoes with good soles for the girl, and we walked back along the canal. We got there just as the LED path lights were blinking on. At the start of the walk none were lit, and as we walked along some came on there-and-then. Cue plenty of ooh-ing and aah-ing from the wee one. By the time we'd walked back to Shandon all the lights were all fully lit and she was exploring the different colours: white, red and green.
