Modern weaponary

Today is the day that the kilts are to fitted for daughters wedding which is 2 weeks today.

However ........... at 530pm last night daughter was told that there was a problem and Burtons (one of the biggest mens outfitters in the counrty) could not lay their hands on the kilts.

They were paid 3 months ago.

Needless to say daughter was distraught.

This morning we were able to find a local kiltmaker who has a similar tartan and is not fully booked for the wedding date.

Just as well - everything for the wedding (flowers, decorations, brirdesmaid dresses etc) is geared around the colour.

It is going to cost more - but the tears have stopped.

We did ask if we could borrow the swords for going into Burtons and having a quiet word with the idiot there - but our request was turned down.

The manageress in Burtons wasn't very pleased when she heard about it and pointed us in the direction of the tw*t who had made the balls up and basically told him "You cocked up - you sort it".

Turns out that he hadn't actually put in the order when we were in - he waited until yesterday. ............. arse.

He also made the mistake of just saying "sorry - do you have another tartan we can do for you?" ............ he came very close to having his lungs ripped out at that point.

Money was repaid in full - in cash (not put back on a card as he wanted) and the 'free' gifts that were meant to come with the order will be coming anyway.

Not that this is the end of the story ........ SWMBO is still livid and has the name of some High Heid Yin and his address and letters will be written (not just to him but to Wedding magazines etc as well). Interest acrued on credit card as well as recompense for the higher costs of rehiring will also be claimed and threats of breach of contract have been bandied about.

It also turns out that the measurements the twa*t took were also wrong so the kilts would not have fitted properly (the expresion 'mini kilt' comes to mind).

NEVER HIRE FROM BURTONS
