Cairns Day 1

After a really unpleasant 2 hour flight we arrived in Cairns, North Queensland. Well the flight probably wasn't that bad but I hate flying. I ended up with seriously tense shoulders.

When we arrived at our accommodation we were all very impressed. The house is open plan and all the rooms face out onto a communal covered deck. The Clan Elliott and hangers on all setted in very quickly. We consumed a lot of beer, wine and spirit and set the tone for the rest of the week.

Late in the afternoon some of us had a quick walk on the beach and the overseas visitors were amused by the "Beware of Esturine Crocodiles" signs. We went for a paddle anyway. The ocean was quite warm compared to Brisbane.
