Feels like home!
Our second day in London started with a walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park the sun was shining but it was really cold. The park was really busy with cyclists, dog walkers, joggers, families, roller bladers and those just having a general meander.
We then walked to the Palace and through Green Park where the resident Pelicans were posing dutifully for all of the passers by. The largest one was wandering up and down the path with the general public just pacing impatiently, he didn't bother though that people were stroking his head and touching his feathers. He really is a huge magnificent creature. There were also a few Herons just chilling in the sun minding their own business.
We headed on though Horseguards Parade past Downing Street and Westminster Abbey, past the Houses of Parliment and St Stephens Tower (Big Ben). We then crossed the river and wandered along past the London Eye that wasn't in service today. Then back along what should have been the millenium bridge but it wasn't finished in time. My father in law was responsible for designing some o the structures that hold the bridge above the water so we always have to pay 'his' bridge a visit.
We the had a bite to eat and headed home!
For me it was a fantastic weekend, I'm sure it was for everyone else but for me it was for different reasons. I love to return to London as it still feels like home, I feel safe, secure and content there which not many people who haven't lived there can understand!
I've also Back Bliped yesterday!
