Rehearsals
As I was packing up my gear to get ready for the wedding rehearsal tonight, I realized: I don't have my flash. I don't have my battery charger. I don't have any of my extra CF cards.
Good thing I have one extra battery and my battery pack. I am completely unprepared for shooting a wedding. (I am not a wedding photographer and I do not know the FIRST thing about shooting weddings.) But I am going to do my best because it is a favor to the groom. Don't $%^ it up, Liz.
Headed out to Orange to buy a new flash. It was time to upgrade anyway... and - damn - it's powerful. The SB 900. Way too bright for this test shot. I'll have to practice a lot tomorrow when the lighting is correct and set up for the bride's walk down the aisle.
Weddings are stressful. I do not plan to make a habit of this.

Renewed my driver's license today. Hadn't been to the DMV since I was 18 (and, consequently, my current photo is from when I was 18). My ID expires on 1.18 (next week). I was number 18 in line to be called. My new license expires 1.18.18. My ID was time-stamped at 10:18. I love the number 18. Everything was coming up 18 today..... which made me really want to head due east to the casinos and bet everything on red 18 on the roulette tables. 18, 18, 18.
Went to a steakhouse to celebrate my birthday with my family instead. They overcooked my filet... and then... they severely undercooked my filet. Hahaha. Alas, I'd rather eat it raw than overcooked.
