Old Composters Never Die They Just...
At the community compost group, nothing is wasted.
Once a volunteer reaches the end of their productive years, they are placed in the brazier and incinerated. Their ashes are then scattered over the composting vegetation, where it acts as a marvellous accelerator and produces compost of a rather superior quality.
This act of altruism also keeps the more productive volunteers warm on a cold crispy morning.
Experiments are ongoing to try and produce charcoal out of unproductive volunteers, but we are running out of manpower.
It is also proving difficult to recuit new members.... I really do not understand why!?
