Dieseldaisy's youngest son's birthday today.

Celebrated by a BBQ on the beach this evening.

Lots of bunting, windbreaks and dogs tied to deckchairs (she goes all Country Living if you take your eye off her for a second)

The weather was kind, fairly warm, a light breeze and the sun even shone every now and again. Although it did turn a wee bit chilly later but we can cope with that.

The food got nicely burnt to give that authentic blackened charcoal flavour.

The sweet and sticky things were, well... very sweet and very sticky.

The kids found a big slope to slide down, developed 2 fortresses to raid between and the brave ones (all the girls and Campbell) went for a swim.

I even went for a paddle! Damn it was cold.

None of the kids seemed to notice the cold until they came out of the water. At which point they all started to turn blue.

Blue, sticky, tired, sandy, damp children were all returned home. Result!
