Getting old
One of the hardest parts of studying through distance learning is the self-discipline that is needed. Especially during the summer months when friends are out enjoying themselves and you're stuck at home doing assignments. I got this mouse mat not long in to my studies and it regularly reminded me that the work had to be done before a reward could be had.
This evening I realised as I've (almost) finished my prolonged student life, I have clearly got old. At 8:40 the offer of drinking and dancing arrived. I'm sure it would be a great evening but instead I'm thinking about a nice cup of camomile and a bit of crocheting before bed. I'll make up for it on Sunday however when I hope to catch up with some friends to celebrate my degree.
In other news: I really hate filling in forms. I'm supposed to be able to magically recall dates that I last saw Doctors or Consultants and other questions are so vague, for instance: are you now free from excessive drowsiness? I don't know, what do they class as excessive? It's a while since I've needed an afternoon nap or fallen asleep whilst working but by late afternoon, yes, I might be quite tired. Also, is my condition now under control? Well I never really asked the consultant how or when I'd know if there was any change in my condition, without having the tests again, how do you know if your sleep is being interupted? Grrrrr...
