Project Week

Bob does not return to school until tomorrow. This week was Project Week.

Pick an animal
Research it using at least 2 sources
Write a list of fast facts about the animal - rough draft & final draft
Write a paragraph about the animal - rough draft & final draft
Draw the animal
Assemble these on a poster (the teacher sent home a sheet of construction paper, or you can you your own)
Present the animal by reading your paragraph to the class
Embellish it for some extra credit


Bob chose the Orca (killer whale). He liked researching it, he liked drawing it. He hated the writing. Agh - it is so difficult to get this child to enjoy writing. By the time he had completed all of the assigned tasks, I suggested that he do some of the extra credit options. No way was his answer. We attached the papers to the construction paper. He practiced his presentation to a live audience and the video camera. I think he's ready!
