A Postcard from Tignes, France.

Dear All,
I have had the most wonderful week in Tignes, a purpose built ski resort in the Savoie region of the French Alps. Whilst not an attractive development, Tignes le Lac is perfectly placed to access the extensive Espace Killy ski area.

So, I hear you ask: 'What is it that makes me love skiing so much?'

Just everything!
The clear mountain air.
The stunning views that change with every nuance of the weather.
The adrenalin high from hurtling down steep slopes, both on the well groomed pistes and the fresh, untouched, powder snow.
Meeting and skiing with like-minded people, enjoying their camaraderie, laughter and friendship.
Savouring the delicious Savoyard food in a mountain restaurant, or in an ancient village square.
Retelling the stories of the day over a glass or two of vin chaud after the last run down the mountain.
A leisurely dinner accompanied by local wine.
Sleeping soundly, as one does, only after physical exhaustion, and looking forward to the next day's adventures.

I have back blipped the week with images that may not be technically beautiful, but sum up each day for me.
The characters I met included:
Indigestion Ian,
Dangerous Dave,
Clever Dick,
P for Penny,
Barn Door Barry
Tom Cruising the Blues and his dad Kevin with Karma and finally Fiona the fit, who along with all the other super people will pop up at some time in my journal.
