Hugs
Today has been the day of the missed blips!
I had to drive over to Abingdon for a meeting this afternoon, about 75 miles through the Cotswolds, stunning scenery and blip opportunities everywhere I looked. Lovely blue skies and sunshine too - just couldn't be better. Apart from the fact that I miscalculated the time needed for the journey and ended up running late, so didn't dare pull over anywhere to take a couple of photos.
Then I couldn't park outside the offices as their spaces were all full so had to park further away, not a long walk but added another few minutes to the journey. When I came out again, the sun was setting, lovely colours - but it was 4.30 pm and I needed to get round the Oxford ring road, so I'm afraid I chose escaping before the rush hour over walking in the wrong direction to the back of the office block to get a chance of a photo of the sky (anyway, there are lots of gorgeous sunset photos on blip today, much better than I would have got on an industrial estate!)
Got home to find an invalid, feeling poorly and in need of regular cups of tea - we were just relaxing nicely when I picked up an email from my (new) boss apologising but asking for some information for a meeting he had tomorrow at 8 am. So, upstairs I went to log on, sort out a report - ended up emailing him back at 9.30 pm. Still, that must be good for some brownie points and has saved me getting in a panic about it tomorrow morning, I don't normally get into work till around 8/8.15 am so would have had to leave earlier to meet the deadline.
Finally sat down to relax only to remember my blip - it crossed my mind to just miss a day but I didn't want to do that. Went out to the kitchen on my nursing tea duties - waiting for the kettle to boil I noticed our little salt and pepper hugging couple. We got them from the German market in Birmingham before Christmas - I'm not actually sure I'm all that fond of them - that pepper eye is a bit freaky!
