Scotland The World Over : Maxwell Park Pond
I really wanted the pond to feature in this Burns Day project, I have taken so many of my Blips here, but not actually taken a shot of the whole thing. So here it is, situated amongst the leafy avenues of Pollokshields on the South Side of Glasgow. 21 acres of land were given to the people of Pollokshields by John Stirling Maxwell back in 1889 for a place of recreation. My heron was having a snooze on the island at the far end.
I forgot to take some blutac or sellotape with me, so ended up trying to anchor my Saltire between the wooden panels of the picnic table. I've got another couple of ideas to try again before the deadline at the end of next week.
